The Research on the Edge blog is run by researchers in the Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences Group at The James Hutton Institute and is supported by SEFARI Flexible Funding. It provides a space for us to communicate our thoughts and ideas about the issues facing rural, island and sparsely populated areas in a less formal way than through academic papers and research reports, and at a time of significant change. We also welcome contributions to the blog from community groups and local stakeholders and representatives in these areas; if you would like to discuss a contribution, please get in touch.
Research on the Edge builds on and extends the scope of the Islands Revival project, the archives of which can be found here.
